International safety and trade publications have turned their attention to ODE Technology, the Hangzhou-based manufacturer of lightweight electro-hydraulic rescue equipment, following a string of overseas exhibitions and the opening of its Mexico factory.
Reporters covering the emergency response sector note that ODE's battery-powered cutters, spreaders and rams - sold under the ODETOOLS brand - now compete directly with established Western product lines on force-to-weight ratios, while often pricing below comparable kits.
"A decade ago, Chinese exhibitors at rescue shows were mostly component suppliers," one industry editor observed. "Today companies like ODE are showcasing complete, certified tool systems and robots, and buyers are taking them seriously."
The coverage also emphasized ODE's full-stack manufacturing model: the group produces its own ultra-high-pressure pumps, hydraulic motors, valves and precision castings, which analysts say helps control both quality and delivery times.
With products already present in more than 80 countries, ODE appears frequently in discussions of how Chinese specialized manufacturers are moving up the value chain in the global safety equipment market.
