Industry analysts covering the emergency equipment sector have published notes on ODE Technology's expanding intellectual property portfolio, which now exceeds 250 patents, including more than 50 invention patents.
The analysts argue that patent density is a useful indicator in rescue equipment, where performance depends on subtle engineering - pump geometry, valve response, alloy treatment, seal design - that is difficult to copy through reverse engineering alone.
"Anyone can assemble a cutter from purchased parts," one research note explained. "Protecting the pump, the control logic and the structural innovations is what separates a technology company from a workshop. ODE's filing pattern shows systematic R&D rather than isolated inventions."
Recent grants such as the dual-power hoist patent were singled out as examples of solving real operational problems - maintaining lifting capability when a battery depletes during a long rescue.
The notes also observed that ODE's provincial research institute and university partnerships provide a pipeline for future filings, particularly in rescue robotics and hydraulic system digitalization, supporting the company's positioning in both domestic tenders and certified export markets.
