ODE Technology has established a provincial-level research institute focused on hydraulic rescue technology, bringing together engineers, material scientists and rescue equipment specialists under a dedicated innovation platform.

Research priorities

The institute concentrates on four areas: ultra-high-pressure electro-hydraulic power units, lightweight high-strength structural materials, intelligent rescue robotics and digital monitoring of hydraulic systems. It also coordinates cooperation with universities, including long-standing partnerships with institutions such as Zhejiang University of Technology.

From field feedback to product generation

Research projects are driven by operational feedback from fire departments, armed police units and construction teams. Recent outputs include the KFC200-E integrated electric door breaching tool, the ZC-35 heavy support kit and a tracked firefighting robot, alongside continuous improvements to the core cutter, spreader and ram platforms.

"The institute ensures we do not just manufacture tools - we master the technology behind them," ODE said. The company invests a significant share of revenue in R&D each year.
