ODE Technology has been featured in a national development report on high-tech and specialized enterprises, cited as a case study in how focused manufacturing firms can build global competitiveness through continuous R&D.
The report highlights ODE's nearly two decades of concentration on lightweight electro-hydraulic technology, its portfolio of more than 250 patents, and its provincial research institute. It also notes the company's recognition as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a national specialized "Little Giant" enterprise.
"What stands out about ODE is discipline," the report's authors wrote. "Rather than diversifying broadly, it deepened a single technology core - ultra-high-pressure electric hydraulics - and applied it across rescue, construction and industrial markets."
The publication contrasted ODE's vertically integrated production - from precision castings to finished rescue robots - with assemblers that depend on bought-in components, arguing that integration is a key reason the company can sustain quality while scaling output at its Deqing industrial park.
The feature is expected to be read widely by provincial policymakers and industry associations supporting specialized manufacturers.
